MUMBAIROCKS ..!!

MUMBAI - Its a city that grows on you. some have an instant liking whereas some take their time to like it. mumbai is a city that never sleeps - you always have something to do whatever time it is. As far as i can remember, i have always loved this city for the numerous things it offers you to do. This is yet another list of things in mumbai . Its afterall - MUMBAI MERI JAAN ..!

THINGS WE LOVE ABOUT MUMBAI ...

ROADSIDE VADAPAV ..

Aptly called the poor man's burger..! deep-fried potato patties served between pav smeared with assortments of chutneys ,this serves as a meal at a meagre price of rs 5 to rs 10. served with fried green chillies and chopped onions . we all love street food and when it comes to vada pav...yummm..!

WORLI - BANDRA SEA LINK ..

Since its inaugration the sea link has become a hot spot for long drive lovers. The breeze on this smooth road is relaxing especially during the monsoons .

6 AM AARTIS AT SIDDHIVINAYAK ...

Mumbai is blessed by Ganpati, there's no denying that we mumbaikars love our bappa. hundreds of devotees walking to siddhivinayak every monday night to attend the aarti is a proof of that .Even celebrities join in regularly to seek blessings.

MUMBAI NIGHTLIFE..

Mumbai deserve its label as India's party town. Most high-end hotels around colaba have exclusive night clubs, while bandra has cool DJ bars including zenzi. Dress smartly for Beachfront vie lounge and Deck or glitzy Engima in juhu. clubs are usually open untill 2 am.

MORE FOR LESS...!!

Im a girl, and shopping is my first love.sue me ! being a mumbaikar, shopping comes easily to me. There is a tone of variety and colour everywhere, cheap stuff around, while people haggle to make them even cheaper.
mumbai is a hub of fashion street. It is a city full of malls, showrooms and shops for shopper's but street shopping is the most exciting and fun filled way for shopping freaks.Mumbai is a shopaholic's paradise. Tourists visiting mumbai can spend lazy afternoon hours browsing through the display window of various shops. The eminent shopping places in mumbai include downtown mumbai, colaba, bandra, dadar etc..The affordable and trendy clothes and accessories sold in colaba causeway, zaveri bazaar, and fashion street are frequented by college goers and teenagers looking to make a quick buy.
THE BEST SHOPPING MARKETS IN MUMBAI...:

COLABA CAUSEWAY

The everyday carnival that is colaba causeway market experience is a shopping experience ike no other in mumbai. That famous indian saying of "sabkuch milega"(u'll get everything ) certainly applies at this market. A question that generaly pops up is WHAT TO BUY ?? well..colaba is famous for its handicrafts, books, jewelry, crystals, brass items, clothes.

LINKING ROAD, BANDRA :

A fusion of modern and traditional and east meets west is mumbai's hippest suburbs. Here streets stall contrasts with brand name shops and you'll  find an Indian roadside food vendor on one side of the road and a kentucky fried chicken outlet on the other. something that this place is famous for is traditional clothes, children's clothes, bags, footwear, belts.

FASHION STREET :

Fashion street is literally just that - just that a street  lined with fashion ! There are around 150 stalls here. The market attracts hoards of teenagers and college students who come to grab the latest western clothes and fake brand names at cheap price.

CHOR BAZAAR :

Navigate your way through crowded streets and crumbling buildings , and u'll find chor bazaar nestled in the heart of muslim mumbai. This fascinating market has a history spanning more than 150 years.its name means"theives market", but this was derieved from the british mispronounciation of its original name of shor bazaar meaning "noisy market". Eventually stolen goods started finding their way into the market ,resulting in it living upto its new name .

"zara hatke, zara bachke, yeh hai mumbai meri jaan"

BY THE BAY DURING MONSOONS-MARINE DRIVE

The glorious sun behind the hills across the harbour; breath taking winter sunsets at the horizons edge from marine drive; the vivid blossoms of gulmohar;first sound of the koyal that hearald the coming of the monsoon; the fury of the rains at Haji Ali;the amazing smells, sounds and sights at crawford market;the striking art deco archietcture of cinemas like liberty, eros, regal and metro; the street food (vada pav, pani puri, gola's);the promise of better tomorrow in slums;the gateway and the taj;street shopping;the incredible crucible culture and cuisine...aahhh...soo much..where can we get all of this ..?? well, that is MUMBAI-BAMBAI-BOMBAY...! Mumbai is a huge city with several district articles containing sightseeing, restaurant, nightlife etc etc...(never-ending)..! Im a hardcore mumbaikar, who loves her city to the core, gets offended when people crtisize her city, loves every bit of it ,and last but not the least is proud to be a mumbaikar and loves to brag about her city. since childhood mumbai has been everything for me,the city which taught me to love, the city which gave me happiness, the city of dreams, the city which never slept..! why do i love mumbai so much..?? ummm..itz a never ending list..! Everyday here in mumbai brings with it insanity, our motto in life is to work hard and party harder.! Also i love mumbai for several more reasons, itz a frantic city where anything is possible provided you have the fortitude to stick it out ! Also because i can take a rickshaw at 2 am in the morning, roam around, explore places and get home safe and sound.i love the extremities of bombay. To me its the most extreme city in the world, its where you have a marriage hall right next to a crematorium;deluxe five star hotel buildings rising among slum clusters; a lamborghini sharing the same road as  bullock carts and also street food vendors right outside fine-dine establishments. There is an organised choas and madness about this city.I remember the day when i travelled for the very first time in local trains, mumbai local trains is a world of its own.people here in mumbai wake up every morning and wish for a few things in common .."i wish to catch a 8:20 local."
                                            "i wish i get a window seat."
"i wish noone pushes me today."
and the best of all.."i wish i get an empty train."
"TIME TO RUSH"-MUMBAI LOCAL TRAINS

The story of this happening city continues right here, more post that take you deep into the joy rides of street shopping
and plenty more. All the reasons why is this the "mayanagri".....
And yes this is Neha Karmaran,a hardcore mumbaikar.
